Frequently Asked Questions
WCA’s Flood, Temporary Spaces and Rebuild
`What happened?
On Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, the fire water main in the basement of Midtown building blew. From roughly 2 am to 3:30 am, the 5 inch pipe was pouring 110 psi of water into the basement of the building. WCA was epicenter of the flooding as it was only 3 feet from where the pipe burst.
Over the next hour or so, the water rose to about 4-5 feet before it blew out the doors. When the fire fighters arrived, water was flooding down to Columbia street and they were wading through 3-4 feet of water in the building to investigate what was happening. The break also flooded the building adjacent to the Midtown, the Halbert building.
How much damage was there?
This video captures the extent of damage to WCA. It was nearly a total loss. In addition, many other businesses and the building itself was deeply impacted (see below on how to help).
Did insurance cover the flood?
WCA did not carry flood insurance so unfortunately, its contents were not covered by insurance, nor were lost wages or emotional toll. The building owners do have insurance for the building infrastructure damaged from the flood. They have been fantastic in helping the ways that they are able to help.
Will there be any other compensation for the businesses who were impacted?
There was no compensation.
NEW UPDATE: Where are the WCA appointments taking place now?
WCA has select appointments at the Coldwell Banker building at 113 - 2nd Street, Suite 7 until May 2026 when it moves into its new location. These appointments are in a 1:1 private treatment room.
The Coldwell Banker building is on the corner of Mission and 2nd. Off street parking lot is available to the south side of the building, accessible through the alley off of 2nd OR from Mission Street if you are heading north. Entrances are located on 2nd Street and in the back parking lot.
NEW UPDATE: When will WCA re-open in a new space?
Unfortunately, WCA will not be moving back into its original space as the timeline did not line up with our goal to get back up and running under one roof as soon as possible.
Our new location will be at 21 Orondo Avenue (across the street from our previous location) in between Cupcake Blues and The Time Capsule in the Hotel Building in downtown Wenatchee.
How can I help?
1)Book an appointment and get some acupuncture!
2) Pay it forward by pre-paying for some acupuncture visits for yourself or someone you love through purchasing a WCA gift card. You can do this online and it will never expire! Click on the link and scroll down to the button that says "Buy Gift Card".
3) There is a GoFundMe fundraiser for WCA to be able to replace items that were destroyed by the flood. The GoFundMe has already received a HUGE community response and allowed me to buy recliners and some of the other things necessary to set up the 2 temporary spaces. I am so grateful!! Any amount will help me during this transition time and when we rebuild the original space, I will have the funds to do so.
5) Volunteer to build furniture, decorate and other miscellaneous tasks once we can move back into a permanent space. Just let me know if you'd like to be put on the call list!
Where can I ask additional questions?
